A quick little post.
This weekend Logan and I were headed out somewhere together. In the car I pulled out my Ipod and plugged it in. He loves it when I play a song for him. When Sugarland's All I Want to Do first came out, I'd play it over and over for him while he sang "doo oooh ooh, dooo oooh ooh". If you know this song, you know what part I'm talking about. I'd roll the windows down and let the wind blow in his hair and just smile and laugh while we sang together. Sweet little memories. Now, his daddy would probably prefer it not be a Sugarland song. But it was sweet nonetheless. Well as I was saying, I pulled out the Ipod and plugged it in.
Here's our short little conversation:
Logan: What are we going to listen to mom? Can we listen to.....
(breaking in with an answer before he can even ask, bless his heart)
Me: No, not today.
Logan: Oh, are we going to listen to that holy music?
Oh I just love him. He knows me. It doesn't hurt to give him a little taste of that "holy music". I think it's doing a great thing in his little mind and heart. I think I'm going to try to find that "holy" song he'll be begging me to play for now on.

Do not worry
It seems like this year has started out being a challenge for many around me. And as the economy is in chaos, many are facing many obstacles. Many of my friends are facing different battles. As I was emailing one of those friends, I was drawn to 2 books of the Bible. Matthew and Psalms. God tells us in His Word that we are not to worry about what tomorrow brings. He will take care of us. I couldn't say it any better than these verses. Please read these. Pay attention to what He is telling us. I believe we ALL could get something out of these verses.
Psalms 46:1-3 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling."
Matthew 6:25-29, 33-34 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." 33-34: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Where He says "So why do you worry about clothing?", I like to insert whatever I may be worrying about. Do the same for yourself.

Double post Wednesday...my UPS man is a crank.
Ok people I need some ideas on how to help my UPS man. In my office I work a couple of doors down from the front door. Very seldom is the part time girl here when the UPS man comes in. One particular time she was gone, he came in and was very huffy. I could tell he was not a happy camper/packer..whatever. So I walked up front and signed for our package. I was thinking "boy, what's up his rear?" I just smiled and thanked him. A few days later he came back, again, the part time girl was gone. Well I was busy and didn't hear him come in so the poor guy had to walk 20 steps (Yes, I just counted) to my desk for me to sign for the package. And this guy was REALLY not happy this day. Me being a bit of a smart mouth (Lord help me work on this) said "It must really hurt you to walk back here huh?" His response was "Yeah, sure does." Grrr I was SO mad. I thought seriously about reporting him for his rude personality. I mean EVERY time he walks in here he looks like he could beat me with my own package.
Seriously?! Is UPS that bad? It must be to this guy. Also, just to add a description of this guy...he smells like he took a bath in his own cologne. Whew! Gives me a headache just thinking about it. One day I was in the elevator by myself and I could smell him. Then the elevator stopped. He got in and my response was "I could smell you were in the building." Hahahaha Makes me laugh at my own bold stupidity.
Each day he comes in I have tried the "kill him with kindness" to see if he breaks. Nope. No smile. No how you doin'. Nada. Zilch. I have always taken the opinion that if your job is SO unbearable and it shows to your customers/clients/coworkers.....then GET A NEW JOB!
So here I am...I'm going to ask each one that reads this post.....a friend, a family member, a blog stalker...I want your opinion on what I could do to break this man. I don't mean, break him as make him feel horrible. I mean, really reach him and make him enjoy his job a little more when he steps in this door. Now, this is a little difficult because I'm a married woman. I'm not trying to hit on the cologne overdosed man. I just want to, you know, see if he'll change a little. Cause he sure puts me in a bad mood sometimes.
So what's your opinion?

Oooh ooh you know it's going to be alright
Since I can remember music has always been a kind of medicine for me. I'm not saying just any old song. I'm talking about a good song. You can always turn on the radio (or your Ipod in today's generation) and hear anything from an old honky tonk blues song to what I like to listen to, a good feel good christian song. And that's just the kind of medicine I need. I told someone yesterday that good christian songs are like good Sunday messages from your pastor. Except you can get one every few minutes instead of waiting on Sunday. I like to really listen to the words. I don't know how many songs I have heard within the last few days that have blown me away. These were new songs to me too. Just like the one that I wrote about on Saturday night that I call my "theme" song.
So I have decided for as long as I can keep it up and remember, every Wednesday will now be Feel Good Wednesday...instead of hump day. Each Wednesday I will try to bring to you a new song from different christian artists. Maybe I'll give you a taste of music that you're not familiar with. Uh hum, Summer, I bet I can find you a good christian rock song you might just enjoy. *wink* I'm going to try really hard to add them to a playlist so you can hear them instead of just reading the lyrics.
So for the very first Feel Good Wednesday I bring you one of my favorite, make you want to dance around, bop your head, clap your hands, do the chacha, tap your pencil, songs from MercyMe called Alright.

Full of surprises
I love surprises!
Just last week I had mentioned to Wes a few things that I wanted to get done around the house this Spring and hopefully before becoming pregnant again. We have a guest bedroom that I basically use as my junk room/closet/shoe holder/office/well you get the picture. For the majority of time you can hardly even walk in there. I told Wes I wanted to get it all cleaned out and I needed another bar added in the closet. I use the guest room's closet as my own. Well he had finally bought me a bar to add in there but it had been sitting in the room for about a month now without being put up. So that was one of the items on my list. 2nd was for the garage to be cleaned out. Half of the garage is nice and clean because that's where I park. But the other half was a total mess. And the third thing is to FINALLY get a backsplash. It's been a YEAR people!
Well Friday I pull up into the garage and have to do a double take. I thought I had pulled into the wrong garage for a second. I had to back out and examine the garage. Oh it looked so nice.
Then I go in and of course tell Wes what an awesome job he did and how I loved opening the garage to that surprise. Well as I walk into my closet to put something up I noticed a white shiny object. It was my other bar!!! Man he had been busy in the few short hours he had been home from work. I was definitely impressed. And it lit a fire under me on Sunday to get in there and clean stuff out. Anyone where a size 6 shoe? I have a few pairs of shoes I'm giving away. Heehee My closet is all organized and clean and it feels so good to be able to walk in that room and actually be able to see the floor. Yay for my husband and surprises!
Now I know what you're wondering....did he get to the backsplash? hahaha I'm not going to say a word. He did the other two items and that was wonderful enough.
On Sunday my friend Stephanie walked up to me and handed me a small spiral book. It says Hope. In His name the nations will put their hope. Matthew 12:21. It is so wonderful how God blesses me in small ways. Within the past week I had been wanting to keep a journal handy when I hear of people I need to pray for. That way I'm not forgetting. Well Stephanie didn't know I was wanting a new journal. She had bought this for me on Saturday and then Saturday night we saw each other and I was telling her about me wanting a journal. She didn't say a word. Then Sunday she came and handed this pretty little book to me and my eyes were automatically drawn to the word Hope. She told me she had already bought this and thought it was so neat for me to tell her I wanted one that night. I'm so glad God has given me such good friends and gifts. I am so blessed.

My Theme Song!
God is SO great. I will just say that for now. I hope to come back tomorrow and finish this blog with all my thoughts and praises for God.
But for now, THIS is my theme song. It was on the movie Fireproof and if you have not seen this movie I URGE you to. God answered one of my prayers tonight. And I'm so amazed at His love for me. God really knows my love for music and He always knows how to bring me a song just when I need it. Thank you Lord.
When I heard this song tonight I didn't think of my marriage I thought of the journey I am on while I'm waiting for God to bless me with a baby. So this, this is my theme song. And I will sing it to God as my prayer. And I hope all of you can think of something that YOU are waiting on and ask God to help you to worship and serve Him while you wait.
