Feel Good Wednesday #35

Last night I got to help ladies from my church to deliver boxes of food to families in need in our community. Our town is not big at all but there are still LOTS of families in need. We went to four homes. Every home had at least three children living in the home. Three out of the four homes had children living with them that were not theirs. These children were abandoned by their parents. These children needed someone to take them in. These children were lucky enough to have a family member to step in and take care of them when even their parents wouldn't. It broke my heart. One woman that we gave food to seemed to be a single mother. (We didn't ask questions.) But it seemed she was a single mother with two of her own children and she said the smallest boy there (probably a 3 year old) was not even hers. She said this little boy's mother just left him. She didn't want him. And the father was never in the picture. Can you believe that?! You know what is sad, this is happening ALL OVER our world. There are children being abandoned. There are children being left to find food for themselves.

At each house we gave huge boxes of food, a turkey, a ham, bread, eggs and then we'd hand them a card. Once the food was brought inside we would ask if we could say a prayer. I had to keep from crying in front of these women and children. The women were SO thankful for us. But it wasn't us....we were just sharing Jesus.

I couldn't sleep very well last night thinking of those children. I have SOOOOO much to be thankful for this year. Yes, it has been a difficult year. But it has made me stronger. I know that God lives and He loves me. I am so blessed beyond measure for what He has done for me and my family. I have food, a warm place to sleep, clean clothes, clean water. My list could go on and on. I am SO thankful that I know who my Jesus is. I am so thankful that when times get tough, I just have to think they could be worse and that Jesus is right there leading me in the right direction.

It shouldn't just be around this time of year that we reflect on how thankful and blessed we are. We should thank God EVERY day for the life we have and for what He has done for us.

I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. Count your blessings!

Thankful
by MaryMary

Lord I'm thankful for my blessings
Everything that you gave
Times when danger was around me
My life Lord you saved
Where would I be without your love
Where would I be without your grace
You didn't have to do it but I'm glad you did

Can't pretend that what I got
I got it on my own
Every move that I made
Can't say I never been wrong
When I fell you picked me up again
Though I brought it on myself
I can always depend on you
Whenever I need help

Lord I'm thankful for my blessings
Everything that you gave
Times when danger was around me
My life lord you saved
Where would I be without your love
Where would I be without your grace
You didn't have to do it but I'm glad you did

The next time you go to sleep
And you wake up alright
Remember that he kept you safe
And warm all through the night
Lift your hands and lift them high
And this is what you say
Lord you didn't have to give me
One more day

Lord I'm thankful for my blessings
everything that you gave
Times when danger was around me
My life lord you saved
Where would I be without your love
Where would I be without your grace
You didn't have to do it but I'm glad you did

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you
It's plain to see
All that he's done for me
I thank you for everything
I live my life
So I can let the world
Know that I am

Lord I'm thankful for my blessings
Everything that you gave
Times when danger was around me
My life Lord you saved
Where would I be without your love
Where would I be without your grace
You didn't have to do it but I'm glad you did

He prepares your path

As I was cleaning out a drawer in my office I ran across a piece of paper. I do not remember where I copied this from, whether it was an email, an email devotional, from a friend or what. But the words are powerful. Maybe you needed this today. I hope you know that God is making your crooked places straight.

He Prepares Your Path

Do you ever feel like every time you try to move forward in something, you hit a roadblock? Something happens that throws you off course. Be encouraged today because right now in your life, God is going before you. He’s preparing a way. He’s making your crooked places straight. He’s making your rough places smooth. You may be going through a difficult time right now, but it’s not the end. It’s only the beginning. God has equipped you for this journey. You may feel like you’re in a dry season, but don’t look at your circumstances. Look at the promise of God today! If you’ll keep speaking words of faith, God promises that He’ll anoint your head with oil and your cup will run over. That means you’ll be refreshed and anointed to do what He’s called you to do. God is preparing your path and equipping you for the journey. What do you need today to keep moving forward? Start by checking your attitude. Don’t go around complaining and focused on the negative side of things. Put on an attitude of praise and thanksgiving. Thank Him for making your crooked places straight! As you do, you’ll move forward in joy and gladness in the blessed future He has prepared for you!

“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight…” Isaiah 45:2

Feel Good Wednesday #34

I've heard this song a few times before but yesterday it really caught my attention. I do smile when I think about how God has turned my life around. I do smile thinking about how happy serving Him makes me. I do smile when I think about what the future holds with Him. Nothing is impossible with Him. If we will just wait on Him, our lives will be far better than we can ever imagine.

I couldn't find this on the playlist website, of course. And this youtube video isn't the greatest. But listen to the words....that's what I really want you to do. And smile! :)

I Smile
by Russ Lee

Lost and all alone
Looking for a reason for being
In this crazy world
Trying to go on
Looking for the answers
To the questions
And there You were
From the moment You appeared
Everything became so clear
I'm so glad that You're here, Lord

I smile when I think about
The way You've turned my life around
I smile when I think about
The happiness in You I've found
I'm so amazed at what Your love has done
And when I think the best is yet to come
I smile!
I smile!

Wandering the dark
Lost in the confusion
I thought I was losing my mind for sure
I searched with all my heart
Looking for direction
Something to believe in
And there You were
And You were reaching down to me
You were everything I needed
I'm so glad You found me, Lord

I smile when I think about
The way You've turned my life around
I smile when I think about
The happiness in You I've found
I'm so amazed at what Your love has done
And when I think the best is yet to come
I smile!
I smile!

'Cause You've turned all my gray skies
To the brightest blue, yes, You did
And my life feels like sunshine
And it's because of You
All because of You.. I smile

Feel Good Wednesday #33

This Veteran's Day I really want to think about what all our military men & women AND their families go through. It's not just the military men & women that I am thankful for; but, I am also thankful for the families that make daily sacrifices. I can't imagine having to keep living my life while I have a spouse, Dad, brother, sister, etc. over fighting for our country. Fighting for our peace. Fighting for our freedom. But initially, above all, we have God to thank for His sacrifice. He gave His son for us. He sacrificed for our freedom. The freedom we still have today. Jesus took many battle scars for each one of us. He paid the price!

Thank you God. Thank you Jesus. Thank you military service men & women. Thank you families. Thank you all for the sacrifices you have made for me, my friends and family, and my country.

I'll Stand
by Michael W. Smith

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to you surrender
All I am is yours

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul Lord to you surrendered
All I am is yours

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul, lord, to you surrendered
All I am is yours

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul, lord, to you surrendered
All I am is yours

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand
My soul, lord, to you surrendered
All I am is yours

[Repeat until the end]

Feel Good Wednesday #32

Sorry about last week guys. I just couldn't find the time to post.

I can't help but think "I want more" when I begin thinking of my relationship with God. I don't think we're ever supposed to feel like there's nothing more He could give us. And I don't think we're ever supposed to think there's nothing we couldn't do for Him. I think there are endless possibilities when it comes to Him. We should always be thinking of ways to improve our relationship with Him. I want more!

I think this sounds like a great worship song. I hope you enjoy.

More of You, Jesus
by Pocket Full of Rocks

I've touched the hem of Your garments
And I have felt the leading of Your hand
But today, my eyes look much higher to see the face of the great "I am"
I've touched the hem of Your garments
And I have felt the leading of Your hand
But today, my eyes look much higher to see the face of the great "I am"

Chorus:
So more of You Jesus, more of Your face, more of Your glory in this place
More of You Jesus, more of Your face, more of Your glory in this place

I've touched the hem of Your garments
And I have felt the leading of Your hand
Oh but today, my eyes look much higher to see the face of the great "I am"

(Chorus)

I'm longing for more, and more, and more
More of You Jesus, more of Your face,

Blessed #7

I love my husband!
I don't share a lot about him because he is very private.
He doesn't get this blog stuff I do.
He would rather me not do it. But he puts up with me.
And I thank him for that.

We are celebrating our 7 year anniversary today!

God has blessed us so much through the years.

I just know God's got something up His sleeve for us this year.
Thank you God for my husband.
Thank you God for 7 years with him.
